Position: Project Manager
Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (On-Site)

Responsibilities

– Lead and oversee the development and implementation of carbon credits projects in accordance with international standards and protocols.
– Manage all aspects of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
– Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to facilitate project activities and achieve project objectives.
– Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
– Monitor project progress, evaluate project performance, and prepare comprehensive reports for management and stakeholders.
– Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments related to carbon credits development and climate change mitigation.

Requirements

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, natural resource management, or related field.
– Proven experience in project management, preferably in the field of carbon credits development, climate change mitigation, or environmental conservation.
– Strong understanding of international carbon market mechanisms, including REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), VERRA (Verified Carbon Standard), and other relevant standards.
– Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive project success.
– Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Proficiency in project management tools, software, and Microsoft Office suite.
– Knowledge of Papua New Guinea’s environmental laws, regulations, and socio-economic context is desirable.
